Wednesday is Bang the Drum Day when all are welcome to bring a drum to share. Thursday we will be focusing on our color for the month: pink (rosado in Spanish). Join us Friday for our monthly family breakfast and pajama day, where you are invited to join us for a free homemade breakfast.
February 6-10 N-Nanny Goat, I say na-na from my throat.

Monday we will be talking about the letter “N”, our letter for the week. Tuesday we will be doing activities around our number of the month: 7/seven (siete in Spanish). Wednesday we will be reading and acting out The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Thursday we will be reading and doing a variety of themes around Audrey Penn’s The Kissing Hand, a sweet story about a kiss on the palm that can remind a child of a parent’s love when they are apart. Friday is Shape Day, featuring the heart.

Valentine’s Cards- On Tuesday, the 14th, we will be celebrating Valentine’s Day. As a part of our celebration, all children may exchange Valentine cards. Please bring in cards with your child’s name written on the back. Each child will distribute their cards at random into cardholders made at school (so no names on the envelopes are required). A card for every child is not necessary either; just bring how many are in the box you happen to buy. Believe us, everybody gets plenty! Children not attending on Tuesday can bring their cards in earlier.

February 13-17 O-Opossum, hanging by my tail hurts some!

Monday we will be talking about our letter for the week: long “O”. Tuesday we will be having special activities for Valentine’s Day, including a party and luncheon. Sign-ups will be posted for you to participate and/or contribute something. No lunch boxes. Wednesday we will be doing activities around our science theme for the month: shadows. It is also Flashlight Day and children are encouraged to bring flashlights to share. Thursday is Playin’ Possum Day. Friday is Opposite Day: Day/Night.

February 20-24 O-Octopus, my 8 arms make such a fuss.

We are closed Monday for the Presidents’ Day. Tuesday we will introduce the letter short “O”. We will also be reading the book Gentle, Giant Octopus. We will be calling Wednesday “Windsday” as we explore the forces of the wind. Thursday is Go Fly a Kite Day when we will do kite-focused activities. Friday is our 2nd opposite day of the month: Stop/Go, where we will explore the many ways that things stop & go!
